This will be the first of my reviews of the entire Deltora series. It seemed as if all deptora lost, when Sharn looked out the window, and shrank back as if she saw someone outside. The fantasy, creatures, and quest all remind me of tha I have just recently finished reading The Forests of Silence, by Emily Rodda. After that Jasmine reluctantly agrees to show them the way to the most dangerous location in the Forests of Silence. I think i will read a book of the serie now and then. The Kingdom of Deltora is under attack from the Shadow Lord and our heroes must find the 7 magic gems to eliminate the Shadow Lord and stop his Evil doings. This first book in the first series apparently the Deltora line resembles the “Beast Quest” line, in that they are both long series of books broken up into shorter “mini-series” of five or six volumes each has an unusually complicated plot for a children’s bookand protagonists that exhibit a more complicated emotional range than most children’s books they’re angry, confused, and, at times, both foerst and distrustful of each other.

Top it off with an ocean surrounding the peninsula and Deltora is like Earth condensed into the size of Texas. The Lilies produce a nectar of healing and, potentially, immortality. They’re intended entirely for children, and to rate them on an adult’s scale is to do them a gross injustice.

Looking back, I think they still hold up and are one of the all-time greatest children’s fantasy series — a uqest masterpiece in the genre, as I’ll argue over the course of these reviews.
